*When building your tribal think of colors that you like, they work
best in two's or three's....think of items that will blend well when you
want to make color or costume piece changes.
This costume takes time to build.



Ghawazee Coat:
One Ghawazee Coat
(Blue or Maroon)
Harem Pants/Pantaloons to match
**You have the option of wearing the tribal bra or basic top
with lots of jewerly. With this costume, we sometime wear a turban.



Gypsy Costume:
Any shade of Blue
Tiered Skirt
Choli and or Bra
(you must have a choli under your bra, if not a fishnet top!)
Pants are optional
Hipscarf, fringed belt  or both



Tunisian Costume:
A basic Blue Dress
Overdrape & matching harem pants
Blue or Maroon hipscarf
2 to 3 tassels at hips
Link chain Jewerly, Anklets
Hoop Earrings
Troupe Veil or provided headpiece

Cabaret Costume:
The color choice is yours!
Bra & Belt
Skirt, Gauntlets, Headpiece
Pants, if you like

*Select a design that is flattering to your body type and the color as
well. If you sew or purchase your purchase; always measure twice!
All students are encourage to sew and design their costume pieces.
Sewing is rewarding, this will spark your creative talents.

If you don't sew, we do have informal "How To's"!
It's a great feeling of accomplishment in completing your
tassel belt, coin bra or other pieces.  
You will wear them proudly.

If you don't sew, don't worry you will be given tips on where to
go for you costume items!
There will be other costumes added to the page and will be required for all
performing students. This list will be updated with more costumes.

Other items that are needed in order to do public performances are a sword,
zills, veil, water jug, and cane.  Remember you will need to have dance
shoes depending upon the surface we are dancing on and a cover up is
required before and after performances.

**This is the basic costume for students in training!
If you have some basic skills in sewing,many of your costume items
can be made, with some effort on your part!  You will save yourself a
great deal of money and this is rewarding to wear your own designs.

My suggestion for first time sewers are the Tassel Belt, & the Tunisian
dress.  For more skilled sewers; try your hand at the
3 Tiered skirt, choli top, Ghawazee Coat and designing a Tribal or
Cabaret Bra and Belt set.

There are belly dance costume pattern companies as well as using other
commercial companies catalogs at your local fabric stores. Searching on
line is another option for finding directions.
